My normal week consists of WORK-REST, WORK-REST, WORK-REST with little yoga sessions stuck in between.
I start to wonder is there more to life than just WAKE UP, WORK, REST?? Life is so pointless if we live just to work day in and day out. I was discussing this with my mom last night. I feel like I need something more than just work. I want to have fun... and not just after-work dinner with friends when we are all tired as hell. I yearn to have the same type of freedom when I was back in Vancouver, where I can drive to a beach and just sit there for a couple hours looking over to the other shore... or walking around and browsing in the fresh markets to buy groceries and fresh flowers and pastries... doing dine-outs with good friends on weeknights... or going to friends' backyard BBQs on weekend... grab a cup of coffee while shopping...etc.
Then my mom said something that just hit me...
"If you don't work hard, how can you do all the things you just said? All the things you did back in Vancouver was with our money so even when you were doing internships and part-times, those weren't real jobs. What you are doing now is really what other people are doing.... WORK. You are really WORKING now."
Sigh, work is not fun. Work takes a lot out of you (at least it took the 'carefree' out of me). I guess in order for me to be able to do what I used to do, I need to support it with money... and LOTS of it. My friends who recently came to visit me from Vancouver said I seem to have changed a bit. They feel like I am not as "ditzy" as before but now more mature. I guess not only am I growing into 30's, I feel the pressure of responsibilities on my shoulders as well. I can't be as carefree and idealistic as before. I understand that things cannot always go my way and I have to learn to accept it. Things cannot be forced and I need to learn to take them as they are. I don't know if work has changed me into a better and mature person, or changed me into a no-fun and mundane person...
I wish I can be 26 again...

- Work was slow because of the crappy global economy...
- Work was so slow I needed to think how to get new business...
- Cold calls daily ... trying to grab new business opportunities...
- None of the cold calls returned but some new customers approach on their own!
- Work resumes...
- One of my friends are going through the exact same thing as I was prior to my move years ago. Hell... I got so worried that she and her boyfriend would end up like me and my ex. I told her whatever she does... don't end up like me and my ex. Now I got her all worried. My bad.
- One of my friends just returned from a month-long trip... and she met a new guy.... they kissed and they hang out a lot... but she has a stable boyfriend here who knew nothing. I felt very bad for the poor guy. (Even if he knew, I doubt he is going to do anything... hmm.... now I don't even know if I should feel sorry for him.)
- I have been taking classes with THE yoga instructor. He is still super sweet as always.... flirty as hell... and I feel a flutter deep inside me but I perfectly understand this is just an infatuation. I guess I crave some attention from a nice guy. I know it's fake but that will do while I'm looking for a new guy.
- I got a brand new handbag (FINALLY!)... broke my bank. That means no more spending til next month.
- The water pipe in my apartment cracked and leaked all over... not all over my flat.... but leaked down to several flats downstairs! This will also add to my "no spending for a month" thing. My flat is totally fine so I don't know why I have to fix it... sigh...
- I've decided to give speed-dating a chance. Haven't tried it yet but my friends are kind of excited to hear that I'm finally stepping out of my comfort zone.... or finally CONSIDER stepping out my comfort zone.
- Secret is out ( I accidentally eavesdropped on my parents while they were chatting with my aunt): Apparently my parents went to a fortune-teller years ago (when I was still with my ex) to ask about when will I get married to my ex. Turns out, I WILL get marry but to another guy, not to my ex (my parents were not surprised because of how his mom was treating me at the time... and they were not too pleased about that)... but not now... later in a few years.... Reasonable, as I need to meet this guy first and then get to know him for a few years before we can get marry. It's about time I need to go out. And the most satisfying thing to hear is, this guy is for keeps. HALLELUJAH!!
That's what have been happening while I'm away. Yeah... it wasn't that exciting but ... that's my life.

Why is it so hard to go back to work on the first day after a long weekend?? It's almost 3:00 in the afternoon here and I'm still very drowsy... AND tired... AND lethargic... I guess I either had too much fun and felt too free over the weekend (with my 2 best friends in town) or my stomach flu decides to kick me while I'm down... *groan*... Good thing today there's not much work going on (surprisingly!!). Had lunch buffet, with unlimited sparkling wine supplied, with my cousins on Sunday... and I got drunk right after... I almost felt asleep on the street... (Oh in case you didn't know, I get drunk reaction only by a half-glass of wine. Yes, I'm a wimp. I was born to have allergic reaction to alcohol.... and I will have major redness or spots all over my body from eyelids to toes.... all red.... if I down a full glass of wine. Half a glass is still in the "uh oh" zone). Anyways, I managed to crawl back home and passed out til evening (I think my dog looked at me funny the whole time)... and then that's when the stomach flu kicked in and made me feel like a deflated balloon for the rest of the night.
I guess I'm tired with a reason this time.... or am I just lazy? probably both... *groan*... I need my strength back...
